It's Times Like This
Where I wish that I had cable television. I want to be able to stay home all day today and stay glued to the news channels to watch everyone’s reactions to Michael Jackson’s death. I know that Jermaine and Tito will have something to say, but I’ve always like it when the media tracks down people who may have merely been in the same room as the “King of Pop” sometime in the last century.I won’t be appeased until I hear responses from Joe Pesci, Anjelica Huston, and Emmanuel Lewis. Make it so, news people.
I wanted to hear from Macaulay Culkin and Lisa Marie Presley. Lisa Marie already made a statement, I haven’t heard from Mac yet though.

that if I ever wanted to become a criminal lawyer, I would be a shoe-in due to my extensive hours watching Law & Order.
My high school had a pretty crappy drama department. We had no real stage so we used risers and put them in the cafeteria for our annual productions. This was my sophomore year’s production of Camelot. Drama was 95% females, so most of the knights were played by girls. I am the knight standing in the back next to the girl in the blue dress. Yes, I had a singing role. Yes, I had to sing like a man. Yes, I had to draw in a beard and mustache.
This is one of my favorite memories.
Fastforward to around 5 minutes in. This is Hurricane Chris at the Louisiana House Chamber.

Not only am I a bad listener
… but I am also a horrible reader. I escalated a defect to my boss today and I got a reply back from him that said “Hey, I found out yesterday there may be a very feasible workaround. Let me see how soon I can get it to you.” But I read the last part as “Let me know how soon I can get it to you.”
Then I sat here for about 5 minutes staring blankly at the screen trying to figure out what that meant
“Maybe he has to mail it.”
“Maybe it will take time on my part and he doesn’t want to take me away from my heavy workload.”
“Maybe he wants me to talk to the clients and see when they want it.”
I tried to compose a response that didn’t consist of “WTF?!?!” until finally I re-read what he put and said “OOOOOHHHH” *facepalm*

It’s the truth. I stay inside most of the day to avoid this craziness.
I’m not sure why I even bother showering anymore. I just went on a quick trip to the grocery store (in an air-conditioned car) and came back sweating buckets.
